Hannouneh

Established in 1993, Al Hannouneh’s core mission is to protect and preserve the popular culture and heritage of the Greater Syria region in general with greater emphasis on Palestine due to the continuous attempts of negating and appropriating its rich cultural heritage.
Al Hannouneh carries this responsibility through its dedicated and passionate members of all ages who volunteer their time, effort and expertise to serve the different programs that run under the umbrella of the society including: -
o Al Hannouneh library which serves as a reference and centre of information related to the history and cultural heritage of the region.

o Al Hannouneh artistic troupe, the main arm through which Al Hannouneh directly interacts with its audiences from all over the world. The troupe, which consists of junior and senior dancers in addition to the music band, has participated in major festivals and events locally, regionally and internationally since its inception.

o Al Hannouneh Magazine for Popular Culture

o Teaching the traditional dance ‘Dabke’

o Al Hannouneh Souk for crafts, traditional artisans and food
