Made of cotton and polyester, this dress is considered the bridal dress for most of the villages in Jerusalem. It is named Al-Aghbani in reference to the silk fabric that carries that name and is imported from Homs and Aleppo in Syria. The embroidery is done on pieces of silky polyester fabric that are olive green and orange in color. Thick silk and reed threads are used in the embroidery of this thobe using “Al-Tahrira” stitch which Bethlehem is famous for. The patterns on this thobe are also similar to those found on Bethlehem thobe.

The sides of the thobe are covered in embroidered patterns called “Al-Sa’a” which means a watch in Arabic, and “Al-Sharbat” in addition to other floral formations. The sleeves are embroidered vertically along of it, until it meets with a horizontal strip at the opening of the sleeve. The vertical strip is surrounded with the “Sa’a”, which is a motif also seen on the lower back hem of the thobe surrounded with floral patterns.
